Alissa has 22 years of experience in physical therapy. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in exercise physiology and physical therapy. She graduated from Florida International University. She specializes in orthopedics and manual therapy.

Marie Ambrogio

Marie Ambrogio-Correa, MPT, CLT

Physical Therapist

Marie graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology 1997 and a master’s in physical therapy 2003. She specializes in neuro rehabilitation, vestibular rehab, lymphedema treatment and FCE's. Marie is also a certified lymphedema therapist, certified Juzo Garment Fitter and Interactive Metronome certified.

Magdaly Cintron

Magdaly Cintron-Mariani, MS CCC-SLP, CBIS

Speech Language Pathologist

Magdaly holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from University of Puerto Rico and she graduated in 2007 from Florida International University with a Master of Science degree in communication sciences and disorders. Her specializations include: communication and cognitive therapy (TBI, stroke, etc) and dysphagia therapy. Magdaly is a certified brain injury specialist and also holds certifications as a NMES (VitalStim) provider, DriveABLE provider and Interactive Metronome provider. 

Lauren Freve

Lauren Freve, DPT

Physical Therapist

Lauren Freve has been a physical therapist since 2012. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Indiana University in 2009 and her doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) in 2012 from Nova Southeastern University. Her specialty is Orthopedics, however she has experience in neuro rehab including stroke and brain injury and Parkinson’s. She is LSVT-BIG certified. Lauren is working on the development of the Pediatric Orthopedic program to facilitate young adults to return to sports. 

Jaclyn Grill

Jaclyn Grill, M.A. CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Jaclyn graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders in 2011 and a master's degree in speech-language pathology in 2013. She has been working with HealthSouth since July 2014 as an outpatient, inpatient and Bridge program therapist. She specializes in treating patients with cognitive-communication and swallowing impairments as a result of stroke and brain injury. She is a certified VitalStim provider.

Jennifer Hamble

Jennifer Hamble, MPT

Physical Therapist

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at Vila Nova.  She attended Boston University for her master’s degree in physical therapy. Jen has been happily working for HealthSouth for nine years in inpatient, outpatient and home care settings. Jen is currently working in outpatient specializing in orthopedics. She is also a part of the ITB clinical screening team. 

Heather Henry

Heather Henry

Speech Pathologist

Heather earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Central Florida in 2002 and 2004, respectively. She also completed post-graduate coursework and research at New York University, where she studied principles of motor learning and used acoustic analysis to better understand changes in speech/vocal motor behavior. Heather specializes in the treatment of cognitive-communication disorders after stroke or brain injury, motor speech disorders (apraxia of speech and dysarthria), voice disorders, and dysphagia. She is also LSVT LOUD certified.

Kathy Honeycutt

Physical Therapist Assistant

Kathy graduated from Broward College and brings 30 years of experience to HealthSouth. Kathy specializes in pediatrics, neuro treatments, serial casting and kinesiology tapping.

Sue Jones

Susan Jones PT C/NDT

Outpatient Neuro Team Leader

Sue has been a physical therapist since 1982. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from FIU.  She has had a variety of experience in acute care, SNF, HHC, acute rehab and OP.  Her area of specialty is neurology including brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury since arriving at HealthSouth in 2002. Sue is also certified in interactive metronome, the use of LE Bioness and the REWALK exoskeleton. Sue has been the program champion and coordinator of the Day Rehab Program since 2006. 

Pam Leggett

Pam Leggett

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Pam is a licensed mental health counselor and certified rehabilitation counselor. She attended the University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Health Science in rehabilitation counseling with an emphasis on mental health counseling. Pam has more than 15 years experience working in the mental health field providing individual and group counseling to individuals with severe and persistent mental health issues as well as dual diagnoses including developmental disabilities or substance abuse.  Additionally, she has over 10 years experience as a vocational counselor in the worker’s compensation field providing reemployment assessments, return to work program development, conducting labor market surveys, job coaching, interview skills training, resume development and developing job analyses.

Erica Leiva

Outpatient Therapy Team Leader

Erica graduated from Columbia University in 2003 where she received her doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) degree. Erica specializes in orthopedics, pulmonary rehabilitation and the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Erica is also LSVT certified.

Cheryl Mandel

Occupational Therapist

Cheryl graduated from FIU in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. She completed her hand certification in 2005 and specializes in upper extremity hand injuries.

Barbara Martelli

Barbara Martelli, RN, CRRN, CBIS

Team Leader Outpatient Bridge Program

Barbara has been employed at HealthSouth since 1994. She has been a registered nurse since 1986 and received her nursing degree from Broward College. She specializes in traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries. Barbara is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and is also a certified brain Injury specialist. She is active in the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and has served as president at the state and local level. 

Laura Mohammed

Laura Mohammed, MSPT C/NDT

Outpatient Therapy Manager

Laura has been employed at HealthSouth since 1994. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo and master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Miami. She is NDT certified and specializes in neuro rehabilitation including Bioness and ITB clinical screening. Laura is a corporate educator on the HemiMove Team.

Jordan graduated from Midwestern University where he received his doctorate degree in physical therapy (DPT ). He specializes in orthopedics and has a strong interest and passion for treating individuals with lower back and shoulder pathologies.

Tanya Nguyen

Tanya graduated from FIU in 2000 with a degree in occupational therapy. She specializes in Neuro rehab including TBI, SCI, IM, and LSVT Big. She is trained in Bioness UE, Seabo flex/ Mobile Arm Support, REO Nova Vision, spasticity splinting and casting, visual perception and cognitive software . Her certifications include NDT, PNF, Hand Bioness, Saeboflex and DriveAble.

Sue has been employed at HealthSouth since 1996. She specializes in neuro rehab including TBI, stroke, MS, parkinson’s disease, SCI, cognitive and visual perception deficits.  Sue holds certifications in NDT, IM, and LSVT Big. She is trained in Bioness UE, Seabo flex/ Mobile Arm Support, REO Nova Vision,  spasticity splinting and casting, Myofacial and joint mobilization for UE, visual perception and cognitive software. Her specialty is neuro developmental.

Debra graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in occupational therapy  from Florida International University in 1989. She is certified provider for the DriveAble Assessment, Interactive Metronome, FCE and Nova Vision.  

Fran Wade

Fran Wade, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Fran has been a PTA since 1979. She has practiced in a variety of settings from acute care, private practice to rehabilitation, and has specialized in the area of spinal cord injury. In 1991, she became certified by the Aquatic Exercise Association and then in 2004 became certified by the ICATRI (International Council for Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Institute). Fran is a corporate educator for aquatic continuing education course for HealthSouth.

Emily graduated from Nova Southeastern University and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2016. She specializes in neurological rehabilitation and lymphedema management as a Certified Lymphedema and Wound Care Therapist (CLWT).
